![]() Over 200 players each year have battled for the gold on the McCaw Pickleball Courts since they were completed in 2018. Our annual Survivor Pickleball Tournament gives us a tournament on our home courts, helps promote local businesses, and serves as a modest fundraiser for LIPA to help with our mission to promote Pickleball. Our first Tournament Committee chose the Survivor name and theme based on the popular Survivor TV series. It is a good fit because players have to survive the elements to outdink, outslam, and outplay their opponents to make it to the winner's circle. Pickleball was made in the U.S.A. and this year we will be adding a little red, white, and blue to our decor to celebrate America's 250th Birthday. Survivor is currently a non-sanctioned skill level tournament with a round robin format. We currently have Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Doubles. The skill levels are 3.0 to 4.5. This year we will be adding a 50+ age group for levels 3.0 to 4.0. The Survivor Planning Committee starts preparing for the tournament at the beginning of each year and on tournament weekend we have over 80 member volunteers working tirelessly to give participants a memorable tournament experience. With the possibility of 300 players participating, we are very thankful for all our hardworking volunteers who make our Survivor tournament a success each year.
